One of the biggest problems with installing walk-in bathtubs is their large size and swing diameter. This is the dimension from corner to corner of a walk-in bathub.
Many bathrooms are 59" from wall to wall limiting the size of a walk-in bathtub that can be installed.
Getting the walk-in bathtub into the bathroom can also be an issue depending on the bathroom door width. For example, a 28" door can be removed from the hinges leaving a 27" opening due to the door stop moldings. If a 28" door and the door frame are both removed, the resulting opening should be 30" minimum. This is adequate for most of our walk-in bathtubs. If you have a bathroom door less than 28" which is common on older homes, you will probably have to order a 26" wide walk-in bathtub (Model #: 2652).
Minimum recomended water heater is a 40 gallon to fufill the needs of a walk-in bathtub.
For jetted walk-in bathtubs, the electrical required is a dedicate 20 amp GFI circuit.
